Exhibition "Masterpieces from the Borghese Gallery", currently at the Jacquemart-André Museum.

Exceptional!!

The Jacquemart-André Museum , which has just had a facelift (a magnificent renovation, by the way!), is hosting a (breathtaking!) exhibition of some 40 masterpieces from the prestigious Borghese Gallery in Rome until January 25, 2025.

Journey through Italian art

The exhibition presents an exceptional panorama of Italian art from the 16th and 17th centuries, highlighting nothing less than several sublime masterpieces by Caravaggio, Rubens, Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, Veronese...among others!

The most prodigious part of the famous Gallery of Rome, born from the boundless passion for art of a certain Cardinal Scipione Borghese (1577-1633), nephew of Pope Paul V and who became in his time an extremely influential collector and patron. Named Cardinal (at only 28 years old!), he used this influence (and a lot of money...) to build up a collection exceptional in its size and refined taste.

This makes it one of the most important art collections in the world consisting of Baroque paintings and sculptures.

The Jacquemart-André Museum: an exceptional setting

Because the Museum itself is a work of art.

Located in a magnificent 19th century mansion, it is the work of Edouard André and his wife Nélie Jacquemart, built between 1866 and 1875 to house their personal collection of works of art.

A true neoclassical gem, typical of the Haussmannian architecture that characterized Paris during the Second Empire.

Priceless works

Let’s get back to this Borghese Gallery, so magnificent!

Among the key pieces of the exhibition, I can only encourage you (for those who can) to go and admire (up close) some of the most emblematic paintings in the history of art such as Caravaggio's "Boy with a Basket of Fruit", Veronese's "Venus and Cupid" or Raphael's "Lady with a Unicorn".

Works, rarely loaned, which are presented here as part of a renovation campaign at the Borghese Gallery.

Let's enjoy it!

To our artistic affinities,
