A few steps from the sea, in the heart of the charming town of Cabourg in Normandy, I discovered an exceptional place: the Villa of Time Regained .
More than a museum, it is a real sensory and literary experience , a walk through the arts and history, between reality and memory.
Opened in 2021, this unique villa offers a poetic and immersive reinterpretation of the Belle Époque, an elegant and refined period, notably through the prism of Marcel Proust and his contemporaries.
It is aimed at literature enthusiasts as well as art and decoration lovers.

Housed in a residence from the beginning of the 20th century, the Villa was designed as a living place, between historical reenactment and art museum.
Each room has been carefully recreated with period furniture, paintings, objets d'art and wall hangings, in a cozy and elegant atmosphere , conducive to contemplation.
We wander around as if in a holiday home, exploring a music room, a library, a Proustian bedroom, a winter garden... evoking the pleasures of seaside stays during the Belle Époque.

The Villa is also, of course, a invitation to reread Marcel Proust, incarnation of Cabourg and the region! Because we discover correspondence, archival photographs, audio readings, as well as numerous references to "In Search of Lost Time".
